Community Engagement Grants
New Forest District Council
Community engagement grants
Each district councillor has an amount of £600 to allocate, at their discretion, to address local needs within their communities where small scale improvements can potentially make a big difference.
Before awarding the grant, the councillor must be of the opinion that the grant will be of benefit to the residents of their ward. The grant may not be used to benefit an individual resident or household.
Please contact your local councillor if you would like to approach them about possibly making a contribution towards a scheme or project you feel will benefit residents in your area.

Councillor Community Grants Scheme
Applications for this scheme are now open and will close 29 February 2024
The councillor community grant scheme is a budget of £4,500 allocated to each district councillor to support voluntary and not for profit organisations within their ward.
Following our climate emergency declaration in 2019, £1,000 of allocated budgets must be spent on environmental projects.
These organisations must have a charitable or community goal.
Grants of up to £1,000 per councillor can be awarded.
The scheme has been set up to contribute towards specific projects and should not be used to cover day-to-day running costs or salaries.
Fareham Borough Council
Community Funding-
Any community organisation or individual can apply for Community Funding. Organisations must have official papers that state that they are set up not to make profit.
You can apply for any amount but if you are looking for more than £5,000, you will be expected to contribute at least the same amount of money to the project from other sources.
In most cases you can only apply for funding to meet one off capital costs.
If you are setting up a new project, you can apply for a one off payment covering revenue costs, for a limited period of time agreed with the Council.
If you are applying for more than £5,000, you will be expected to contribute at least the same amount of money to the project from other sources.
You can only apply for funding for a project that has not yet started.
If you have previously received Community Funding from us, you will only be able to submit another application after two years have passed since the date your funding was approved.
Once you have checked that your project meets the criteria (141 KB), simply talk your idea through with your Ward Councillor or contact the Leisure and Community Team directly (telephone 01329 236100 or email leisure@fareham.gov.uk).
For grant applications of up to £15,000, once the application form is completed and submitted a decision will be made as quickly as possible. Grant applications for more than £15,000 are considered by the Council’s Executive and it meets once a month
