New Forest Young Carers

If you’re aged 7-18 and looking after someone in your family with a long-term health problem or disability we can help you as a young carer.

It can often be isolating being a young carer but we have a supportive team to offer you all you need to ensure you’re well looked after.

How we can be there for you

We will work with you to create a tailored support package for you and your family. This could include:

  • One-to-one work
  • School support
  • Trips and activities
  • Signposting: We will let you know about any other useful services and support agencies that could help you.

‘When I got invited to my first activity I didn’t want to go because I was scared that I wasn’t going to make any friends but I actually enjoyed myself and Young Carers has helped boost my confidence and it has been great.’

‘Just want to say thank you very much. The girls had a great time and it’s thanks to all of you that gave up your evening for them and the other children.  It was lovely for them to have some relaxing time rather than care time.’

Our Commitment

All our dedicated staff and volunteers have an Enhanced DBS check and receive regular training to ensure we deliver the best service to our important Young Carers.

We are members of Hampshire Young Carers Alliance and work with Hampshire County Council and other agencies to develop a programme of work in line with County and National policies.

Keep up to date

We always have a lot of activities going on for our New Forest Young Carers. To find out more about what’s been going on recently take a look at our news online or sign up for our e-news updates.
