DBS Checking

Community First’s DBS Service

Community First is able to provide online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Checks for organisations who are members of Community First.  Find out how to become a member and the benefits of joining at www.cfirst.org.uk/join-us/.

You can find details on which roles require a DBS Check by using the online toolkit on the Government website at www.gov.uk/find-out-dbs-check.

If you still have questions, you can speak with one of our Development team who can provide you with advice on whether the activity requires a DBS check and at what level (standard or enhanced) for your volunteers and employees.

Signing up to our DBS Checking Service

In order to complete checks on behalf of your organisation, we need to set up a sub account on the system. If you would like us to set up an account, please email your request to DBS@cfirst.org.uk, including the name of the lead person on the account, and full name and address of your organisation.

Further guidance on the process can be found in the guidelines below, including the costs and where your staff can book an appointment for their I.D. checks.
