Community First's Help and Support Directory is an easy to use directory of local community services. It has been created to help people connect with support services and community groups where they live.
Prominent business man Ben Kench from The Business Booster spent an evening sharing his skills and expertise with the charity sector. The session took place at the Winchester Discovery Centre with groups finding out how to survive and thrive in the face of funding cuts. Tina Croucher from Relate SW says “the presentation by Ben was inspiring, thought provoking and helps looking into the future with more positive goals, enabling us to successfully raise more funds for our charity”.
The event was organised by Community First, a charity that works across sectors with community members to effect positive change. Janet Duggan, Volunteer Service Manager at
Community First says “Ben Kench delivered a fantastic presentation to a range of community groups from Winchester and surrounding areas. This is the second session Ben has delivered, volunteering his time and practical business skills. We are looking for new businesses to work with whether they are SME’s or large multi-nationals, with the purpose of making a difference in our local communities”.
Ben Kench from The Business Booster says “I was very happy to support Community First through their skill share scheme. For me it’s about giving something back and if my 3 hours of
volunteering helps one charity to look at what they do and find more funding it has been worthwhile”.
