About the training facilitator

Colette Dark is an experienced and qualified enterprise risk management consultant with a pragmatic, business sensitive approach. Colette has worked in the field of risk management for over 30 years and has assisted many organisations develop and embed robust, practical and business sensitive approaches to risk, safety and resilience management. This has included assignments in Europe, Africa and several Central Asian states.

With the experience and ability to work across many sectors including retail, transportation, financial services, and utility companies, Colette is perhaps most well known for her expertise in local and central government organisations, NGOs and insurance liability risks.

For 20 years Colette led Gallagher Bassett’s Risk Control Department with responsibility for business planning, performance management, product development and marketing strategies. As a member of the executive team Colette shared in managing the wider strategic direction and governance of the Company’s UK operations.

A highly experienced consultant and facilitator; Colette is frequent speaker at conferences, she has also contributed to a number of thought provoking leadership publications in risk management. During a long association with the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), Colette chaired the Institutes training committee, authored a number of accredited training programmes and served on the Board as a Non-Executive Director (2011 – 2014). In 2016 Colette was invited to join the Board of ALARM (National Forum for Risk Management in the Public sector) as a co-opted Non-Executive Director.
