Community First's Help and Support Directory is an easy to use directory of local community services. It has been created to help people connect with support services and community groups where they live.
On a beautiful sunny Autumn day, the rolling hills and countryside was the office for the day for a group of ten willing volunteers from a local business spending the day at Butser Ancient Farm. Butser Ancient Farm is an experimental archaeological site with homes from the Saxon, Roman, Iron and Stone Age eras.
Feefo provide a customer review and insights platform used by businesses and customers to find out what real people really think about the companies and brands we use every day. Earlier in the year, a team from Feefo volunteered for a day to help Headley Down Nature Reserve, keen to help out further in our community they were happy to give up their time once again to help at Butser Ancient Farm.
Volunteers are key to the success of Butser and they are always delighted to welcome extra volunteers, as having a team of people to help means that they can get large jobs done in less time. The Feefo team helped with thatching, wood sorting and even rounding up sheep. Gwen Woodruffe from Butser said, “As a community interest company, having volunteers from our local area is a key objective to our overall philosophy. We love having visitors on site and what they have achieved at the end of the day for us is fantastic.”
Nathan, a volunteer from Feefo said, “It’s been such an amazing day volunteering at Butser Ancient Farm. I am not going to lie, it has been a lot harder work than my usual day at Feefo – don’t tell my boss! There is so much to see and learn about at Butser and everyone has been wonderful, I will definitely be coming back again.”
Simon Jay, Director at Butser, said, “It’s great to have many hands making light work of the many tasks we have around our site. We value everything the volunteers do for us, and would like to thank Feefo for their time today. They were a lovely, enthusiastic group to work with.”
