Linking Hampshire residents to safe isolation support

Urgent support for vulnerable and self-isolating people is in high demand and needs to be safe for all those involved. Qualified, vetted volunteers will provide safe support to those in need of help.

Community First is providing much-needed support for local people, volunteers and new and existing support groups.

Working with our partner organisations, we are supporting emerging call centres throughout the county, helping to triage people’s needs and matching them with much-needed volunteers. For more information, call Hampshire County Council’s helpline (Hantshelp4vulnerable) on 0333 370 4000.

Group support

Huge numbers of localised support groups have sprung up, and they need to know how to reach those that need them most as quickly as possible. They are also facing safeguarding issues. We can help. There are resources including a free downloadable volunteer guide available here as well as a support line (0300 500 8085). For more urgent advice, they can email us.

We already have 480+ volunteers with more registering every day. Anyone registering through us will receive support and guidance including a downloadable volunteer guide.

We need more help with transport, shopping, delivering essential medicines and helping to reassure the most vulnerable. People can sign up on Volunteer Wessex.

Individuals in need

We are helping to coordinate teams throughout the county. They will be contacting those in need. If anyone needs urgent help, they can email us at support@cfirst.org.uk and should make sure they also register on Gov.uk here. Hampshire County Council’s Hantshelp4vulnerable helpline (0333 370 4000) is also available to vulnerable people self-isolating in Hampshire.
