Positive Pathways Poetry and Short Story Competition – Deadline Extended to 27th June!

Want to show your creative side and enjoy writing? Here’s a message from our Positive Pathways team about their competition to lift spirits during the current lockdown.

Inspired by The Reading Agency’s #ReadingHour & to celebrate Volunteer’s Week this June, we’re holding a Poetry & Short Story Competition.

There are just a few rules for this competition:

  • The short story should be no longer than 1,000 words
  • The poem can be any kind (for example, a haiku)
  • It has to be clean & for general audiences
  • The general theme is ‘Time to Celebrate’ but it can be about anything you choose

You can send your entry to us by email, by letter to Leigh Park Community Centre or to the Facebook page by instant message. The winner will then have an opportunity to hold an exhibition of their work with a type of ‘Meet the Author’ event in the Community Centre, when we are back open. We can also arrange a radio reading, if this is something the winner would be interested in. The date of announcing the winner will be decided soon, so do check for updates.

If you want to enter our competition, please send your entry to us by 27th June to:

Leigh Park Community Centre
Dunsbury Way
Leigh Park
PO9 5BG

Or email us at positivepathways@cfirst.org.uk.

For more information about this competition or the Positive Pathways project, we are also available to phone on 02393 873 808.

We look forward to seeing your entries!
