Volunteers’ Week 2019 Programme
Volunteers’ Week is a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. It takes place 1-7 June every year and is an opportunity to celebrate volunteering in all its diversity.
We are excited to taking part in the national celebration and we hope you will too. All year round we help people get started with volunteering, and it is important to recognise the people who give up their time for their communities.
Here is our programme of events that you can get involved in:
- Tuesday 4th June | Havant Volunteer Awards: At the Havant Volunteer Awards ceremony, we’ll recognise the amazing contributions of local volunteers! Keep updated on the award winners via our social media on the day: #HBVA2019
- Wednesday 5th June | Cafe 1759, Bordon: Our Volunteer Service will be at Cafe 1759 from 12-3pm to talk to you about how you can get involved in your community. Come and have a chat with our lovely team. The café will be offering 10% off hot drinks and cakes all day, so it’s the perfect excuse to pop in. Don’t miss the BBQ also taking place from 12-3pm!
- Wednesday 5th – Thursday 6th June | Winchester Discovery Centre: Our Volunteer Service will also be at Winchester Discovery Centre between 10am-12:30pm to showcase local volunteering opportunities on offer! Staff and volunteers will be on hand to encourage people to try volunteering for the first time and help people find out how, through volunteering, they can make a difference to a cause they are passionate about.

- Friday 7th June | Deadwater Valley Social Action Day: To round off a brilliant week, we’ll be getting a lungful of woodland air at Bordon Inclosure, while helping Deadwater Valley Trust conserve this beautiful natural space. If you like to get out in nature or would like to give something back locally, this is your chance to try out volunteering. See the difference just one morning can make!
