Fareham Gardening Service
Community First Fareham offers a Gardening Service for older people and people with disabilities who live in the borough of Fareham and are unable to do their own gardening.
The Gardening service provides low-level gardening work including:
- Light trimming & tidying of shrubs
- Low hedge trimming but no ladder work
Clients must provide all equipment and materials unless agreed otherwise in advance with the gardener. Tools and equipment must be in good working order.
Major work may require specialist expertise that we are not able to provide, however we may be able to inform you about other services.
Who does the Work?
The gardening is carried out by self-employed workers with gardening experience and a keen interest in gardening, but who may not be professional gardeners.
Gardeners are recruited through Community First Fareham by a process of:
- DBS (police) check
All Community First Fareham gardeners carry identity cards.
How much will it cost?
You will be asked to pay:
- An annual administration charge of £10, collected by Community First Fareham
- An hourly rate for labour currently £10 per hour*
- The cost of any materials required*
Hours, equipment and materials are agreed by the client in advance with the gardener.
*Fees for work and materials are paid direct to the Gardener on satisfactory completion of the work.
Any work other than the low-level gardening work included in this service is carried out under private arrangement between the client and gardener and may be charged at a different, mutually agreed rate.
