Call for IT donations for evacuated Afghan families

We have been coordinating donations across Hampshire for evacuated Afghan families who are staying in temporary accommodation across the county and are now asking that anyone wishing to make a donation in support of these families please consider donating laptops, smartphones and tablets, to enable families to keep in touch with their loved ones and access online services.

We are always extremely grateful to receive donations but would kindly request that they be new, nearly new, or used devices that are in good condition and together with the correct leads and chargers. If you have suitable equipment to donate, please get in touch with us using our contact form here.

Community First’s Chief Executive, Tim Houghton, said “Now that we are successfully distributing the most essential items to families, we can turn our attention to supporting families with establishing their life in the UK and staying socially connected during a very difficult time. Supplying laptops, smartphones and tablets will go a long way to ensuring families can keep in contact with loved ones who may be very far away and start accessing vital services that will help them in the resettlement process.”

We will continue to update donation requirements on our website; please click here to find out how you can continue to support the cause.

Thank you!
