Date: 22/08/2022
Time: 09:00 - 16:30
This course runs over 22nd, 23rd and 24th August
MiDAS is a national scheme to enhance the driving and passenger awareness skills of minibus drivers. MiDAS is not a legal requirement but is increasingly being accepted as a ‘best working practice’. Most organisations operating minibuses like their drivers to have a MiDAS certificate. It is down to the organisation’s risk assessment and policy.
Midas Induction is for drivers that do not have a Midas Cert or their current Midas Cert has been expired for more than 3 month
MiDAS offers two types of certificate:
• Standard (for driving only)
• Accessible (in addition to driving, this includes safely securing wheelchairs)
The training consists of an online theory session, followed by a separate driving assessment.
Days are scheduled as follows:
Induction Standard courses
• Day One and Two – Online Theory Sessions x2 full day
• Day Three – 1-hour practical assessment
Induction Accessible courses
• Day One and Two – Online Theory Sessions x2 full day
• Day Three – 2-3-hour practical assessment
A certificate is valid for 4 years and you will require refresher training by no less than 3 months before the certificate expiry date.
Please ensure you read the Midas Drivers Guidance Information: https://www.cfirst.org.uk/community-transport/midas-training/midas-drivers-guidance-information/

818 People Management (Online Course)
Date: 02/11/2022
Time: 10:00 - 13:00
Very few people would be able to prove that managing people or managing difficult people comes to them naturally. We tend to develop our people skills as we go through our careers and learn from the people we meet. Unfortunately, this means that we
learn from great bosses as well as from bad! So it comes as no surprise that, according to the 2015 research by Gallup, around 50% of people are leaving their jobs because of their boss. In other words, close to a half of managers and supervisors have difficulty in managing people. In turn, this lack of people management skills translates into significant financial and non-monetary losses.
In this online training session, you will learn best practices and behaviours to help you build key components that make up an effective and successful manager able to get the best from people. It offers an interactive and experiential approach to learning which is suitable for both, new team leaders and managers, and for those with experience who would like to enhance their people management skills.
The training course will cover the following key elements:

In turn, this lack of people management skills translates into significant financial and non-monetary losses.
In this online training session, you will learn best practices and behaviours to help you build key components that make up an effective and successful manager able to get the best from people. Are individual members of your team performing less well than you had hoped?
Dealing with underperformance can be challenging for employees and employers alike, but it does need to be addressed and resolved early. To figure out what is causing the underperformance issue, you have to get to the root of the problem and to use the most appropriate management actions. This 3-hour training session is designed to give you an opportunity to learn how to manage underperformance at work. It provides insights to improve performance within teams by diagnosing issues and applying effective methods of intervention in order to tackle challenges.
It will cover the following key elements:
Defining underperformance.
Underperformance or poor performance vs misconduct or poor conduct.
Measuring and evidencing underperformance. Possible causes of underperformance.
Management skills to consider.
ACAS (Arbitration, Conciliation and Advisory Service) guidelines on managing performance.
Creating an informal action plan.
Developing a formal Performance Improvement Plan using SMART objectives.
What to do if there is still no improvement in performance On completion of this course you will:
Be able to identify what constitutes underperformance at work and its sources. Appreciate the importance of the legal framework when managing performance at work.
Be able to develop appropriate interventions in order to address performance issues. Appreciate the importance of dealing with underperformance in a proactive and positive way.
Be confident in dealing with typical performance issues.

966 People Management (Online)
Date: 25/05/2023
A Model for Management Excellence.
Managing with Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Agility.
Achieving goals through people.
Good practice in setting objectives and delegating.
Performance management cycle.
Developing others to achieve their potential.
Using mentoring and coaching skills to build performance.
