These will be 20th, 27th April and 4th May - all 1pm to 4pm.
We will be using Zoom to deliver this session, and courses that you build will be based on delivery via Zoom.
In these extraordinary times, there is more need than ever for community support. While some people are overstretched others have time to reflect and develop new skills. Converting face-to-face courses to online live versions is a great way to support our communities as well as provide resources for those with time to continue learning.
This course is designed to support tutors and trainers to convert their current material to a live online version or create new live online courses.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
1. Discover engagement features and techniques for live online courses.
2. Explore “engagement activities” that will suit your audience.
3. Identify and use technology to support live and digital homework assignments.
4. Cover Online risk assessment guidelines
This course is free to attend, however if you fail to show on the days or cancel your place within 2 weeks of the start date, we charge a £50 cancellation fee. Please ensure you can make all the dates scheduled before booking your place.

Level 2 Food Hygiene

This qualification is aimed at food handlers employed in the catering business preparing food. All catering businesses have a legal responsibility to train their staff in matters of food hygiene. In this session we will cover:
* The importance of personal responsibility for food safety
* The legal responsibilities of food handlers and food business operators
* The importance of personal hygiene in food safety
* Effective personal hygiene practices, including protective clothing, hand washing and personal illnesses
* The importance of pest control
* The sources and risks to food safety from contamination and cross-contamination
* Stock control procedures including deliveries, storage, date marking and stock rotation
* How to deal with food spoilage including recognition, reporting and disposal.
A short multiple choice exam will be held at the end of the day. You will need photographic ID to take the exam.
Please ensure if you book a place, that you attend the session. If you wish to cancel you must do so 2 weeks before, otherwise we are unable to subsidise your booked place. If places are cancelled within 2 weeks of the course date, a cancellation fee of £50 is payable, for whatever the reason of cancellation. The cancellation fee is also applicable if you do not show on the day.

* Achieve an awareness of the role of the first aider for children and infants, and how to minimise the risk of infection to you and others
* Learn how to approach an emergency safely and demonstrate completion of a primary survey
* Demonstrate dealing with an unresponsive child or infant who is breathing through use of recovery position
* Demonstrate dealing with an unresponsive child or infant who is not breathing by completing CPR and safe use of an AED
* Learn how to treat a range of emergencies including choking, bleeding, shock, burns and convulsions
* Consider a range of other conditions and how to treat them including poisoning and anaphylaxis
Course Fee: This course is being offered free with funding we receive, however, please be aware that if you are unable to attend or complete the session/s we will be making a charge of £50 as we are unable to subsidise your place once booked.
