Clanfield Summer Festival 2024

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Clanfield Summer Festival this year. More than 4000 people turned out, doubling the attendance of last year’s event!

The free, family event hosted by the Clanfield Centre, saw the community come together on Saturday to enjoy live music acts, dog competitions, stalls, games, an indoor market, beer garden and more.

An impressive £3,500 was raised by the Clanfield Centre café and pop-up bar! This will go straight back into the centre, ensuring it remains open to offer activities and a safe space for the community.

Adding onto this, we had a special raffle fundraising for local charities Sophie’s Legacy and Community First, which runs the Clanfield Centre, so popular it had been extended for a week, raising £730 in total!

The Community First shuttle buses were a great success. Ferrying visitors between the event and the surrounding area, helping many people with mobility issues to attend the festival, who wouldn’t otherwise be able to.

Another huge thank you to DL Entertainments for sponsoring the musical entertainment for the event. The Wednesdays, WonderBoy, Electraverse and The DLB were among the acts taking to the stage, drawing great crowds throughout the day.

Natasha Glover, Manager at Clanfield Centre, said: “This year we aimed to go bigger and better with our Summer Festival, and we’re blown away with the success of the event!

“Thank you to everyone who came along despite the windy weather and our staff, volunteers, stall holders, and entertainment!

“It all came together brilliantly, and we’re delighted to have raised money for local charities and increased awareness of our Café, where we look forward to welcoming many returning customers!”

One guest who lives nearby the community centre said: “As someone who lives just on the estate it was truly lovely and a well thought out day. Thank you for putting it on and for also thinking of the shuttle bus to help with the parking, very appreciated as a resident.”

Local rollerskating club MPSK8 said: “The Clanfield Summer Festival was incredible! So many stalls and things to do. The event was such a success, thanks to all the hard work of the staff. We had an amazing day with over 120 people trying rollerskating!”

Other feedback from festival goers included: “It was lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves, we need more of these events!” and “Well done to everyone who helped make it so brilliant – makes me feel very lucky to live here.”
