Community First & Wates Group Support Eastleigh Animal Rescue Charity
Community First proudly supports Eastleigh’s local voluntary, community and social enterprise groups with Fair Oak’s St Francis Animal Welfare being one of them.
Community First’s Community Engagement Coordinator, Jo, has been helping fundraising volunteer Yvonne identify potential grant funding for the shelter as well as providing advice and linking them with useful contacts.
One of these contacts was Wates Group! They are building some of the homes at the One Horton Heath site, and are providing their own support to local charities in the Eastleigh borough area. Supporting practically in terms of trades as well as or knowledge-based in terms of HR, Marketing etc.
After being connected by Jo, members from the Wates team washed down and repainted all the external building walls at the animal shelter and supplied them with Bitumen to protect them from flooding.
St Francis Centre manager Katie told us – “We want to say a huge thank you to Wates for generously giving up their time to come and paint the external walls of our animal shelter. The transformation is incredible – the fresh look has truly brightened up the space for both our team and the animals. We’re so grateful for their time, effort, and generosity in giving the place such a fantastic refresh!”
If you are Eastleigh-based and think your charity could benefit from support from Wates and/or Community First, please get in touch with Jo on jo.proctor@cfirst.org.uk
