Eastleigh Community Showcase 2024

Join us on Saturday 12th October 2024, 10-2 pm, where Community First will be welcoming 50 organisations to Pavilion On The Park for a celebration of information, creating awareness for Eastleigh’s vibrant voluntary sectory. This will be a great day for helping all the attending groups to promote what they do and how people can get involved including volunteering opportunities. Thank you to Eastleigh Borough Council for supporting and funding this great event.

Groups will be able to talk directly to the public about their activities, support services, volunteer roles and memberships. As well as the 50 amazing groups, clubs and organisations joining us with their stalls, there will also be other activities available for all. The day promises to be fun and informative for all the family and an opportunity for us all to discover some of the amazing work being done in the community and to get more involved.

The event will include some great live entertainment from local groups such as singing and baton twirling after the first half-hour to allow for a low-stimulation period at the event’s start.

Community First & Volunteer FirstCommunity First are here to help any and all voluntary sector organisations while also offering support services include their transport and training courses in Eastleigh. Volunteer First is Community First’s volunteering service and brokerage website to match organisations in need with those looking to donate their time and skills.

Hils – Health and Independent Living SupportMeals and wheels service across Hampshire.
Telegraph Woods Nature Recovery Group – We are a volunteer conservation group, whose main objectives are to Protect, Enhance and Expand the Biodiversity and their habitat within the 52 acre SINC (Site of Importance for Nature Conservation) of Telegraph Woods, West End. See organise fortnightly work parties and are looking to increase the number of volunteers from every age group, from Teenagers to Retirees. Our work will not only benefit nature, but also aims to provide an improvement to volunteers’and visitors’, quality of life and physical health and mental well-being.
Friends of In Touch – We run social groups for autistic young people aged 9-35.
Tail End Charlie Veteran Support Team CIC. Eastleigh Veterans Centre – We provide help, support, and activities to Veterans and serving personnel of HM Armed Forces
Age Concern Chandler’s Ford – Our organisation supports the elderly in our community through a range of social and physical recreational activities which promote physical and mental well-being as well as reducing social isolation.
Eastleigh Spitfires WI – We are the Eastleigh group of the Women’s Institute. We hold monthly meetings with a speaker, refreshments and activities. We are open to women of all ages
Hiltingbury Community Association – Operate community centre in Hiltingbury
Multi Sports Club – Sports, dance and social activities for adults with learning disabilities
MHA Communities – West Hampshire – A part of the larger National MHA charity, we work with older people in the west of Hampshire to reduce isolation and loneliness
Citizens Advice Eastleigh – We offer free, independent, impartial and confidential advice to the people of Eastleigh Borough.
Eastleigh pcn social prescriber We work as social prescribers for Eastleigh and would love to have a table to promote our service.
Eastleigh Borough and Romsey Mencap – We support people with learning disabilities to make informed choices and take part in engaging and meaningful activities in our community.
Youth OptionsYouth Options is a UK Charity supporting Children and young people to achieve better futures. We will run fun activities aimed at families such as soft archery, arts and crafts, and some nature based activities.
Eastleigh parkrun – parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. parkrun is 5k and takes place every Saturday morning.
Eastleigh Youth & Community TrustEastleigh Youth & Community Trust is a Charity run Community centre. The venue is used by the local community and those from further afield, as we offer some truly unique and individual opportunities to suit a diverse range of people.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust – Local Wildlife Charity promoting the work we are doing in the local area and raising awareness.
Solent Youth Action – A youth provision charity for young people aged 10-25 with additional needs, mental health issues, and those at risk of exploitation or harm. Providing supported social and volunteering opportunities as well as targeted interventions to help support the emotional, social and economic development of the most vulnerable young people in the community.
Spirit Twirlers – Spirit Twirlers are a Baton Twirling group based in Eastleigh, who provide weekly lessons to those aged 4 and up. Individuals will learn the basic skills of twirling eventually leading up to learning routines to compete at competitions around the south.
Winchester Mediation Service – We are a mediation charity which helps resolves disputes between neighbours, colleagues, landlords and tenants and in the local community. We are proud to say our work helps to prevent homelessness, unemployment and helps to improve mental health.
Loose EndsSingle people aged 55+ . No upper age limit. A meet-up social group for anyone on their own. Every Monday evening we have Club Night, with a quiz on alternate weeks.
South Hampshire Branch, The National Autistic Society – A self-funded branch of the National Autistic Society, run entirely by volunteers, supporting autistic children, young people and adults, and their families. The branch run support groups, activities and social events in the local area.
Solent Mind – Eastleigh Wellbeing Centre – We do short-based wellness recovery work with both 1-1 and group work. We run anxiety, self esteem, lifting low mood, anger management, and peer support to name a few.
Step by StepStep By Step support young people from age 11 to 24 through hard times. We offer free information advice and guidance on Housing, Wellbeing, Help getting into work or education, Accessing benefits, Substance misuse, Sexual health.
Flautissimo – We have two flute choirs and welcome flute players of all abilities. We provide the opportunity for flute players to develop ensemble skills and take part in concerts. We perform at St Martin in the Field Church in Chandlers Ford twice a year, but play at a variety of locations over the year, such as Christmas Carols in shopping malls, band stands in the summer and Southampton’s music in the city. We are a registered charity.
Eastleigh Lions Club – We are celebrating our 60th year of fundraising for local charities and individual needs in the Eastleigh area.
Eastleigh Community Garden – The Eastleigh Community Garden has been created from a disused basketball court to provide a green space for local people to start growing their own food; support wildlife, boost their wellbeing and meet their neighbours.
Open Sight HampshireOpen Sight provides a range of services to enable people to adapt and manage their lives which have been altered because of sight loss.
Eastleigh Rotary – Volunteers working in the community, raising funds or helping organisations and individuals when necessary. E.g. marshalling at events, shopping for Basics Bank, organising events in the community etc
Eastleigh Community Fridge – We run the community fridge in the Pavilion on the Park and are from Thrive Church, who meet there every Sunday.
Chandlers Ford Men’s Shed – Our Men’s Shed was set up to reduce isolation and loneliness in older men who have retired, or may have lost a job , or worse, a partner. We can give them the support they need, giving them a sense of worth. Our workshop enables men to work on a project of their own, or be involved in a team that maybe working on a bigger community project. All this gives a sense of worth, chatting and learning new skills with new friends.
Ampfield Meadows Retirement Village – Ampfield Meadows is a brand new retirement village in Chandlers Ford and is part of Inspired Villages. The Village will be open in autumn and we want to invite community to use our premises and create a vibrant and positive atmosphere with the residents and the local community.
Endeavor Twirl Team We are a baton twirling group based in Chandlers ford and we promote our group to engage children over the age of 4 years working on the confidence and communicating with other children and having the ability to be able to learn new skills and having the opportunity to take part in competitions and medal exams to improve in their skills, but most importantly about having fun and making new friendships and getting children of the street.
Good Life Sorted Help/support vulnerable people to be more independent within there own home. From appointments, walking the dog, welfare visits and companionship are just a few ways how we can help.
The Point & The Berry Theatre – Local theatres in Eastleigh and Hedge End, offering a wide variety of activities for the local community. We also offer volunteering and work experience
Show Off Musical Theatre Choir – An adult community choir who sing fun arrangements of show tunes.
Eastleigh Good Neighbours Provide driver only transport for medical appointments for local residents over 50 with health conditions that limit access to public transport.
EBS Counselling – This year EBS Counselling Services celebrates 30 years of support for people in the Southampton and Eastleigh Areas. Our organisation is dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive counselling services for the residents of Eastleigh and Southampton and our goal is to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where individuals and their loved ones can find the help they need during challenging times. Our counselling is for all people over the age of 18.Our help matters because we are often able to offer counselling to people who cannot otherwise afford private counselling or may have to wait for a long time on NHS waiting lists.
Solent Running Sisters We are an all female running club for women aged 18 and over. We have four club runs a week with many social runs and events and take part in local Hampshire club races
Greening Bishopstoke – Greening tackles climate change at a community level where everyone is included and everyone has a role to play. We are holding events and activities in the Bishopstoke area to encourage everyone to live more sustainably
Shakespeare Junior School Parent Teacher Friends Association – We raise money for Shakespeare Junior School by doing putting on events
Eastleigh Running Club – ERC welcomes runners of all abilities who want to run in a safe, inclusive environment. We have England Athletics affiliation and our qualified coaches will help you meet your running goals, whether its completing a 5k or running a marathon.
Bird Aware Solent – We are a partnership organisation that mitigates against bird disturbance to overwintering birds on the Solent coastline. We aim to educate the public about what disturbance is and how to avoid it, enabling the public to be a part of helping wildlife thrive in our area..
Eastleigh and District Local History Society – Eastleigh and District Local History Society is a local charity dedicated to preserving and promoting the history and heritage of Eastleigh and its surrounding areas.
Healthwatch Hampshire – Healthwatch is the public’s health and social care champion. We want to hear about people’s experiences with health and social care in Hampshire- for example GPs and hospitals, dentists, pharmacies, care homes or other support services.
Autism Hampshire – Autism Hampshire provides high quality services that meet the diverse needs of autistic people in Hampshire and the surrounding area. It is our vision to create a better future for autistic people. We provide autism-focused training, supported living services, community groups for autistic adults, and an Information, Advice and Guidance Team that responds to an average of 12,000 requests for help each year.
Coast and Country Canines – Working together to protect natural spaces is just part of being a responsible dog walker, and best of all, it doesn’t have to make walks less fun.

Sands – We work to support anyone affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby. We also carry out vital work to improve maternity safety through targeted research, campaigning for change, working with government and reducing inequalities in healthcare to save babies’ lives.

Eastleigh Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club – Whether you’re swapping stories of service or simply enjoying good company, this is the place to be. Join us as we celebrate friendship, support, and the spirit of togetherness. No one stands alone here; all are welcome to share in the laughter, the memories, and the sense of belonging.

St John Ambulance – As the nation’s leading first aid charity, St John Ambulance offers training courses, advice, volunteering opportunities, event support, products and more.

Chandlers Ford Stroke Support GroupThe group provides social and recreational activities. There’s also communication support for people with aphasia and other communication disabilities caused by stroke, and physical exercises to help with rehabilitation. The group is supported by the Rotary Club of Chandlers Ford and Itchen Valley.
