SMALL GRANT PROGRAMME – OLDER PEOPLE
Please note that we do not run a main grant scheme for Older People programmes.
We fund projects in the following sub-categories:
- Programmes aiming to alleviate isolation and depression in older people, including informal day care or social, physical and recreational activities.
- Programmes which give practical help, assistance and support for older people living in their own homes.
- Programmes addressing the emotional and practical needs of older carers.
- Programmes designed to meet the specific needs of people with dementia.
We wish to fund preventative and early intervention programmes being delivered at the community level which allow older people to stay in their own homes and remain independent. We are interested in programmes which can demonstrate their effectiveness in improving the quality of life of older people. We favour projects that offer a consistent and sustained benefit rather than one-off events or short-lived activities.

The Youth Music Trailblazer fund offers grants of £2,000 to £30,000 to organisations in England to run projects for children and young people (25 or under) to make, learn and earn in music. The project should trial work for the first time, test a new way of working, or disrupt the status quo (or all three!).
Your work must meet one of our themes:
- Early years
- Disabled, d/Deaf and neurodivergent young people
- Youth justice system
- Young people facing barriers
- Young adults
- Organisations and the workforce.
Our grants are targeted to further the potential and opportunity of children and young people who are surviving abuse, at risk of or experiencing homelessness, caring for a loved one, and challenged by addiction (either personally or through a member of their family).
All of our programmes look to support young people experiencing challenges related to these funding priorities. We will always look to promote happiness and a feeling of safety amongst the children the charities look after – reminding them that they are cared for and not alone.
Our foundation trustees meet four times a year to review grant applications the foundation has received and to make grant awards.
Delamere Dairy Ltd has been instrumental in the concept and thinking behind the Delamere Dairy Foundation and is proud of the association and the support it can provide. Delamere Dairy’s sustainable approach to business, its ethics, values and vision inspired the concept of the Corporate Foundation, driven by a desire to ‘do the right thing’, now and in the long term, by giving back to the communities in which it operates.
Though financially supported by Delamere Dairy Ltd and affiliated by name, the Delamere Dairy Foundation, established in October 2020, is a self-governing, independent registered charity with a clear purpose of giving back to local and wider communities through the provision of discretionary grants and other financial assistance.
The Foundation is run by independent trustees and grant panel members who consider applications for funding in line with the Foundation’s objects as set out in its Constitution and with the charitable support of Delamere Dairy. Applications are welcome from charities and organisations whose purpose fits with the objects of the Delamere Dairy Foundation for the benefit of the public, namely
- The advancement of agriculture and of environmental protection
- The advancement in life of young people by developing their capabilities so that they may mature as contributory members of society
- The relief of financial hardship
- The advancement of education
- The relief of sickness

A minimum of £1000 up to £5000. Charities and organisations may apply once per calendar year.
