ABOUT THIS COURSE
Its a fact of life that sometimes we encounter difficult individuals and situations or have to have difficult conversations. These can happen at anytime, whether in the workplace, volunteering or just simple out with the public
This course would benefit anyone that would like to gain more confidence in handling difficult situations. It would be particularly beneficial to people who volunteer or manage volunteers
Over this two day course you will look at ways to deal with difficult situations, helping you to deal calmly and effectively without making a bad situation worse. You will explore reflective listening; letting go of fear; recognise body language signs; help to read situations and methods to defuse anger and anxiety
AIMS/OBJECTIVES
• Establish how to handle difficult situations
• Recognise the signs and signals that can precede anger and anxiety
• Discuss self-awareness around personal responses to challenging behaviour and aggression
• Identify ways of supporting and motivating individuals
• Determine ways of managing performance
• Meet others to discuss their own best practice, ideas and experiences

COURSE ELIGIBILITY:
This course is being offered free with the funding we receive from Hampshire Learns to adults aged 19+ whose home address is in Hampshire and who can meet one of the following criteria:
• Do not have a full Level 2 qualification
• In receipt of Income Support or Universal Credit
• Families with school age children in receipt of free school meals
• Have a learning difficulty and/or disability
• Who are at risk of/have mental health needs
• Earn less than £20,319 annual gross salary
• Have refugee status
POLITE NOTICE: Non-attendance will mean we will charge £50 as we are unable to subsidise your place once booked. Cancellations fees are only waived if a place is cancelled 2 weeks before the course runs, for whatever the reason of your cancellation.
