A three-day course which includes the Standard training, plus an additional day focused on preparing Driver Assessors to deliver the Accessible MiDAS programme – designed for those driving minibuses that carry passengers with additional access needs. Delegates will need to attend all three sessions:

Day 1 Overview
• Introduction to the MiDAS framework and training structure
• Conducting Individual Practical Sessions
• Performing licence and eligibility checks
• Understanding the MiDAS Driving Assessment process
• Applying the MiDAS "Safe, Legal & Comfortable" assessment criteria
• Identifying and recognising common minibus driving faults

Day 2 Overview
• Analysing driving faults and patterns
• Techniques for delivering clear, constructive feedback
• Developing consistency and confidence in scoring assessments

On-Road Assessment

• Live driving assessment
• Appraisal of the candidate’s assessment technique and ability to evaluate other drivers

Day 3 Overview
• Passenger awareness and assistance
• Assisting passengers who travel in their wheelchairs
• MiDAS Accessible Assessments


Assessment & Certification

To successfully pass the course, candidates must:
• Demonstrate the ability to deliver effective feedback
• Score driver performance accurately against MiDAS criteria
• Pass a theory test (multiple choice) with a score of at least 80%

Successful candidates will receive a MiDAS Driver Assessor Certificate (Standard) valid for two years, renewable via a one-day refresher course.
