Andy The Award Winning START Volunteer Counsellor
Truly proud of START – Sexual Trauma & Abuse Restorative Therapies‘s Andy for winning an award at The Police and Crime Commissioner Awards 2024!
The award show hosted on March 8th by Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones was organised to recognise the contribution volunteers and partners make to policing and in making the local community safer. You can watch the Awards here.
Andy has been a volunteer counsellor with START for nearly 10 years while also working for the Samaritans and regularly attending festivals across the country as a Samaritans volunteer counsellor too! Because of this he well and truly earned the Commissioned Service Volunteer of the Year Award at this year’s ceremony.
START Manager, Steve, had this to say – “Andy has been a volunteer counsellor with START for nearly 10 years and has been both a constant and reliable inspirational counsellor for our sexual trauma service and deserves the accolade of an award recognising his services.”
