Home Helps First Aid Courses
Did you know that In the UK, only 8% of people feel confident to administer first aid during an emergency?
Here at Community First, safety and wellbeing come before everything else, which is why we’re proud to be running training to upskill our Home Helps.
We recently held a first aid course for some of our Home Helps at our Fareham office, brilliantly run by Meon Valley Heartstart.

- The recovery position for an unconscious person
- How to properly do CPR
- How to use a defibrillator
- Recognising a heart attack
- Stroke detection
- Basic 1st Aid on bleeding
These lifesaving procedures taught are not only useful to know while working with our clients but for life in general and we’re truly grateful that we can provide these kinds of courses. The more of the community that can be trained into knowing lifesaving procedures, the better for everyone.
“Brilliant lifesaving skills course by Heart start. I am the sort of person that would panic in the face of an emergency but knowing these simple skills and being able to practice the recovery position has made it seem a little less scary! Definitely worth knowing when working with the elderly and vulnerable “
“The course was interactive with practical clear instructions. It’s given me confidence if I should need to assist in a situation in the future “
We’re already looking forward to our next course we are hoping to arrange, which would be on Dementia Awareness.
