Fareham & Gosport Voluntary Sector Health Forum – Tuesday 12 October 2021

The Fareham & Gosport Voluntary Sector Health Forum was held online on Tuesday 12 October 2021. Following on from attendees being welcomed, GVA’s Chief Executive Officer, Ted Hill, provided a brief Fareham and Gosport area Community & Voluntary Sector update.

David Ward, Head of Communications and Engagement, Hampshire & Isle of Wight CCG and Dr Ros Sexton, Clinical Director, Coastal Primary Care Network, provided a CCG/PCN update – including Ros explaining how local GPs are working hard to meet face to face with patients as and when a clinically need to do so is identified.

Stuart Urquhart, Contract Manager, Places Leisure, described how Gosport Leisure Centre is supporting people through Long Covid.

Then followed Zoe Huggins, Deputy Mayor of Gosport and Gosport Food Partnership’s Chair – to explain the developing structure and purpose of the partnership and how its partners are working together to address food poverty in Gosport.

Finally, Cheryl Coleman, Manager of Portchester Community Association, described ‘Woodsy’s Community Pantry’ – how it began and how it is helping local people in need.

The Fareham & Gosport Voluntary Sector Health Forum ended by confirming the forthcoming Health Forum online meeting date and time: 1-2pm Thursday 13 January 2021.
