We have a new exciting opportunity for a Transport & Mobility Coordinator to support our weekend services including Shopmobility in Winchester.

Part of your job is to support the Transport Team Leader North in providing an efficient, punctual, safe and high quality transport service for users travelling to and from locations throughout Winchester and further afield. The other aspect of this role is to support Community First Mobility Manager in delivering all aspects of the Shopmobility Service in Winchester and to work supportively with the wider Community First Shopmobility group.

Community First is recruiting Minibus Drivers for an innovative Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service, funded by Hampshire County Council and operated by Community First.

Pompey Link is an on-demand and pre-bookable local minibus service. It links Paulsgrove and Port Solent, an area of the city which is not currently served by any other bus connections.

This is your chance to be part of a service transforming local transport in your community.

Your Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Driving our modern minibuses and vehicles safely and professionally
  • Using tablet technology to follow schedules and route maps for passenger pick-ups and drop-offs
  • Providing excellent customer service and representing Community First positively at all times
  • Assisting passengers on and off the vehicle when required

Shift Details

  • Pay: £12.51 per hour, plus £2.24 per hour for unsocial hours worked
  • Casual contract: casual hours covering a rolling 6-week rota (Monday to Saturday) Shifts of 9 or 10 hours
  • Fixed term contract: initially to 31 March 2027 Shifts of 9 or 10 hours, with alternate Saturdays – average 28.5 hours per week
  • On-site parking
  • Supportive team environment
  • 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays – pro rata for part time staff (Holiday pay for casual contracts)

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Valid full driving licence with D1 category
  • For insurance purposes, applicants must be over 25 years of age

Desirable:

  • Previous driving or transport industry experience

Volunteer Drivers in all Areas

We need volunteer drivers to help transport passengers to activities such as lunch clubs and social activities.
