A celebration of Fareham community work
Groups in Fareham are invited to showcase their outstanding work in the community at a special event in September.
The Fareham Community Showcase, hosted by Community First, is an opportunity for local charities, community groups, and voluntary organisations to promote their services to the public, recruit volunteers and members and celebrate their achievements.
The free event, supported by Fareham Borough Council, is taking place between 10am and 2pm on Saturday September 30 at Fareham Leisure Centre.
Alongside stalls, music and dance entertainment and family-friendly activities will fill the main sports hall at the leisure centre, where local residents are invited to come along and find out about the various groups in the area.
Residents were fascinated to discover just how many activities and services are on their doorstep, when the last event was last held in 2021.
Tim Houghton, Chief Executive of Community First, said: “This showcase is not only a platform for the many groups and organisations in our community to increase awareness of the services they have to offer, but also for people whose wellbeing could benefit from volunteering or joining a social group. It gives them an opportunity to connect with people – and have some fun!
“We’re looking forward to a fantastic day and hope the Fareham community will come together to join us.”
Community First is now appealing to any groups or voluntary organisations wishing to participate in this year’s event to sign up before September 1.
