Fareham Community Showcase 2024

On Saturday 20th July 2024, 10-2 pm, Community First will be welcoming more than 60 organisations to Fareham Town Centre Podium & Precinct for this year’s celebration and promotional opportunity for organisations in the Fareham Community Showcase, supported by Fareham Borough Council.

This year’s Showcase celebrates the vast array of groups working across Fareham and provides a great platform to raise awareness. Groups will be able to talk directly to the public about their activities, support services, volunteer roles and memberships. Musical and dance entertainment as well as crafts are also planned for the event!

The day promises to be a fun and informative for all the family and an opportunity for us all to discover some of the amazing work being done in the community and to get more involved.

Entertainment Programme:

10:00 – Official opening of Showcase with The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Pal Hayre

10:05 TS Tenacity – This local branch, based in Portchester, of the Nautical Training Corps is a uniformed organisation across the South of England catering for young people aged 8 years and above.  The Corps provides a range of opportunities for children including membership of the marching band.

10.30 Spinnaker Brass – Spinnaker brass are a small groups of 6 musicians playing a varied repertoire of musical through the generations.  The group is also available for private hire.

11:00 Solent Sounds Chorus – We are a group of fun-loving ladies who enjoy singing in unaccompanied acapella style. Rehearsing on a Tuesday night.

11:30Ukes of Wallington – The Ukes are a band of friendly and social local musicians who meet weekly in Portchester to play a variety of songs (everything from the 1920s to the present day). They play regularly at community and charitable gigs around the local area. New members are always welcome.

12:00Fareham Musical Society/ Fareham Musical Society (youth theatre)Founded in 2015, FMSYT has moved from strength to strength offering children from the ages of 8 to 18 the opportunity to learn stage craft and performance skills, as well as having the chance to perform in productions each year.

12:45Titchfield Festival Theatre – One of the UK’s largest amateur theatre groups, with 3 venues situated along the south coast of Hampshire.

13:30Locks Heath Tuneless Choir – Singers from different backgrounds and all ages come together to enjoy the release of endorphins as they sing popular songs in their own unique ways.

14:00Warsash Band – Established over 40 years ago to give local people the chance to play and listen to quality music-making in a relaxed environment. We are an entirely self-funded concert band with a varied repertoire, including marches, musicals and much more!

15:00Mandaleigh Dance Studio – We are Fareham’s longest established performing arts school, established in 1978. We are also a registered charity. We provide classes for adults and children including Ballet, Tap, Modern, Musical Theatre, Acro, Contemporary and Street Dance.

  • 1st Fareham Scout Group – Empowering young people with skills and abilities within the Scout Organisation.
  • Action Hampshire – Charity Action Hampshire covers all of Hampshire to support grassroot organisations for grants, Communities Against Cancer and Warm Matter .
  • Acts of Kindness Community (Solent) – Crisis charity which gives support to families in need. Provides small items of furniture/bedding/white goods and food parcels.
  • Autism Hampshire – We provide autism-focused training, supported living services, mentoring for students, community groups for autistic adults, and an Information, Advice and Guidance Team.
  • Christians Together in Fareham – Christians Together in Fareham is an ecumenical body uniting churches of a wide range of traditions, we support and resource a variety of projects.
  • Citizens Advice Fareham – Helping the people of Fareham since 1942 with free, impartial, independent and confidential advice on money, debt, housing, consumer problems, family & relationship issues, employment and more.
  • CMA Connect Fareham – We’re here to help, anyone worried about money or debt to access free, confidential debt advice.
  • DEBRA CharityA non-profit charity organisation dedicated to helping those with skin conditions and EB skin disease
  • Endometriosis South CoastAn inclusive charity set up to support people and their families and friends on their diagnosis journey with Endometriosis and/or Adenomyosis.
  • Everyone Active – manages Fareham and Holly Hill Leisure Centres providing sporting and leisure facilities
  • Fareham & Gosport Board Game LoungeLike board games but rarely get a chance to play them.. Do family members not like the same games as you? Want to learn and play new games?
  • Fareham and Portchester Primary Care NetworkSocial Prescribers work with patients in primary care, seeking support with their social and emotional needs.
  • Fareham Baptist New Life Church with Christians Together in Fareham – Providing information about churches in Fareham and the services/activities offered.
  • Fareham Borough CouncilKeep up to date with consultations and projects going on in Fareham. An opportunity for residents to have their say and get involved. We will have community engagement surveys and information on volunteering opportunities.
  • Fareham Green Christian (Parish Ecology Group, Based at the Catholic Church Fareham.) – The Parish Ecology Group was started 20 years ago (from the environmental and justice and peace charities) to encourage parishioners to reflect on and study God’s creation, and to discover ways of living in a more sustainable fashion.
  • Fareham Flyers WI – A friendly and welcoming WI with speakers and activities every month, have a enjoyable time and learn something new
  • Fareham Hockey Club Ltd – Fareham Hockey Club has operated for 125 years.  It runs 10 adult teams and has over 100 Junior player members aged 5 to 17.  We run a local Junior Schools hockey programme.
  • Fareham Horticultural Association – The group meet monthly for gardening talks by visiting speakers and hold an Annual Show in September, open to everyone.
  • Fareham Nomads Swimming Club – Fareham Nomads offers ‘Learn to Swim’ and competitive swimming opportunities for the residents of Fareham and the surrounding area.
  • Fareham Macular Support GroupThe group provides a welcoming and friendly monthly social group for older people with visual impairment.
  • Fareham Men’s Shed – Retired men supporting and helping the community showing off their skills displaying hand made items generally from recycled wood.
  • Fareham – Vannes Twinning AssociationOur aim is to help citizens and organisations in Fareham and Vannes make exchange visits.We have a French conversation group.
  • Fareham/Pulheim Twinning AssociationPromotes and fosters friendship and understanding between the peoples of Fareham and Pulheim, including the encouragement of visits, fundraising and financial assistance.
  • Fareham Probus Club – Provides an opportunity for men (55+) with a professional or business background to socialise. We meet monthly for lunch with a guest speaker.
  • Fareham Rotary – Along with Rotary Clubs worldwide we provide the opportunity to do much for people locally and further afield including internationally.
  • Fareport Talking News – We record local news and information for the Visually Impaired living in the Fareham, Gosport and surrounding areas.
  • Friends/Partners through PainAn informal monthly meeting group for individuals who suffer from chronic pain and their carers.  The meetings offer guest speakers and social activities.
  • Gosport and Fareham Friends of the EarthWe’re the local branch of the national charity informing people about sustainability and climate change.
  • Group Activities For Visually Impaired Adults (GAFVIA) – Friendly, fun group activities to improve overall well-being and reduce isolation of Fareham, Gosport, and Portsmouth visually impaired adults.
  • Guide Dogs – Guide Dogs supports people with a visual impairment to maintain their independence and live the life they choose.
  • Hils – Health and living independent care meals and wheels service. We provide a meals on wheels service in partnership with Hampshire County Council where hot meals our delivered at lunchtime.
  • Key to joyProvides opportunities for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities to socialise, have fun and participate in a range of activities. FNC welcomes new volunteers to help deliver weekday activities.
  • Live Art Local CIC – Creates projects that take art out of traditional settings (theatres, museums, galleries etc) to make the arts accessible to all!
  • Love4LifeLove4Life is a friendship and dating network for people with learning disability and autism delivering workshops and events throughout Hampshire.
  • MHA Communities SouthMHA is a charity dedicated to helping older people live later life well and provides a range of care and support services.
  • National Autistic Society South Hampshire Branch – A self-funded branch of the National Autistic Society, run entirely by volunteers, supporting autistic people and their families.
  • Over the WallOver The Wall is a charity that aims to empower children with serious illnesses to become the hero of their own story.
  • Recapture Life and Dementia Friendly HampshireProvides help and support to those with dementia and their loved ones through social clubs and activities.
  • Ripples of CompassionGiving social, emotional and mental health support to bereaved families and children with cancer and life-limiting conditions so no family has to feel alone
  • RNLI – Fareham & Locks Heath Fundraising BranchSaving lives on the sea & water. Local Branch helps provide funds to support this
  • Rowans HospiceWe are a charity providing free care and support to adults in our community who have a life-limiting illness and their families.
  • RSPCA Solent – An independent Branch for the RSPCA helping to rescue, rehabilitate, rehome or release animals covering the Hampshire area
  • Seafarers Sailing Club – We offer dinghy sailing for beginners through to more experienced providing racing, cruising, training and now Gig rowing as well.
  • Solent Daycare C.I.C T/A Freedom Day Services –

  • Sue Ryder – We are a hospice and bereavement support charity. We support people through the most difficult time in their lives through our end of life care and support those going through grief.
  • The Cat Welfare Group – Based on the South Coast, with a wealth of experience in cat welfare and rescue, we are passionate about cats, their well-being and our community!
  • The Crafty Makery CICOffers a relaxed and inclusive space for all members of the community to participate in a range of crafting activities.
  • The Eight Foundation –

  • Think Big Do Bigger – Supporting Frontline Workers and Staff working with Vulnerable Individuals through Peer Support, Coaching and Workplace Solutions.
  • Titchfield Festival TheatreOne of the UK’s largest amateur theatre groups, with 3 venues situated along the south coast of Hampshire.
  • Titchfield WI – We are a small friendly WI who usually meet on 4th Monday at 7.30pm in Titchfield Village Hall
  • Waypoint Hub / Fareham Food Bank – We run a Food Bank and a ‘More 4 Less’ scheme
  • Y Services for young people – We are a charity that provides youthwork and playwork in the community including: youth clubs, playrangers and specialist support.
