Gosport Community Spirit

The group

Taking part in various volunteer projects, Community Spirit Gosport members learn new skills, meet new people and develop their confidence. Supported volunteering includes event stewarding, fundraising, gardening, litter picks and craft projects, to name but a few.

The group welcomes anyone who feels they would benefit from volunteering in a supportive, inclusive environment. If you have a disability, mental health issues or face any barrier to volunteering or work, please get in touch. Our informal drop-ins are on Mondays and Thursdays at Martin Snape House, 10am to 12noon.

As part of the many activities Community Spirit get up to, they maintain their allotment at Middlecroft, Gosport, giving them the opportunity to be in a relaxing space, learning new skills, and gain confidence.

Being outdoors working with nature has been proven to be good for mental health and Community Spirit members have regularly expressed how much they benefit from being part of the project.

The group has also been learning about the health benefits and environmental impact of growing and eating their own produce by completing their first ‘Plot to Pot’ project, using produce from the allotment to make a vegetable curry.

We are always happy to receive donations, equipment, compost, and seeds. Contact Lucy and she will arrange to collect. 02392 604694 or email lucy.coates@cfirst.org.uk.

We also work in partnership with other voluntary organisations to make donations of produce. Please get in touch if you have a project you would like us to support with produce donations.

The programme is always looking for Support Volunteers. If you would like to support Community Spirit to achieve their volunteering or support our drop-ins, please contact Lucy to organise an informal chat and meet the Community Spirit members.

For more information, please contact Lucy Coates on 02392 604694 or lucy.coates@cfirst.org.uk
